Claude Cowork – a little more…

Ok, an uncharacteristically excited post from me, and something I will write more about soon.

Having lived with Claude Cowork for a couple of weeks, I can say it is genuinely impressive. It is the first really useful tool I have used that clearly shows the next big stage of GenAI: automation.

It is probably as exciting as when we first got GPT-3 to write full text back in the months before ChatGPT’s launch.

I am using the £19 a month version, and the thing I am absolutely loving is the Chrome browser automation. As I sit here writing this, Cowork is running on my other computer, currently going through one of my band YouTube channels, one we have really just used as a dumping ground, reviewing each video, checking the tags, descriptions and categories, and sorting them all out for me. It is something I have absolutely never bothered doing before, and it is doing an amazing job of it.

I have tried browser automation before, including ChatGPT agents, and to be honest it has been a failure, largely because it was running in a virtual machine so lacks useful context etc. I didn’t really get anywhere with Perplexity either, although that may change with their recent (very expensive!) new ‘computer mode’.

I went back to my work computer this morning,  with no Cowork, and it already feels like using a dumb relic.

This might not sound like me, getting a bit overexcited about some tech, but I am genuinely loving this.
