A fairly detailed survey on AI usage in HE from YouGov has just come out.
Any surprises? I don’t think so. The reported AI use is lower than in some other surveys, at 66% of students. I suspect it’s still a slight under-reporting, with some reluctant to ‘admit’ it, but probably reached more people who don’t use it than other, more self-selecting surveys.
Some bits that I have seen much data on before: 55% of students think their uni’s approach to AI is about right, and 24% not strict enough.
47% think AI skills will be important for their job vs 39% that don’t. I’d like to see a breakdown by job type.
